1. Heat set your decor bond to the back of your blue jean pieces. Now stitch out your designs on your scrap blue jean material. Use bold, vibrant colors. They really make your designs stand out!.
2. Now take your stitched out designs and cut them into 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inch squares. Decide which 4 you want for the front and back and sew them together using a 1/4 inch seam. If this bag will be washed I recommend you take the time to zig zag your edges so they won't fray.

3. If you want pockets for inside your tote take 2 of your stitched out designs and cut them down to the size you like. Then run a zig zag stitch across the top of the pocket to prevent that edge from fraying. We trimed the corners off the bottom corners of out pockets so they resemble jean pockets (see photo).

Next pin them in place to your 14 1/2 x 14 1/2 inch fabric pieces that you will be using for the inside of your tote and run a zig zag stitch around the three remaining edges so they are stitched in place.
4. Take two of your 6 1/2 x 14 1/2 inch pieces of material and add some decorative stitch to them (see photo).

these will be the sides of your tote. Now take your 2 4 1/2 x 15 inch strips of fabric and add decorative stitch to them if you like (see photo).

These will be your handles.
5. Next take one of your side pieces of material 6 1/2 x 14 1/2 inch and straight stitch it with a 1/4 inch seam down the side of both of your 14 1/2 x 14 1/2 inch fabric for the inside of your tote (see
photo).

Make sure you have your fabric facing in. Press your seams. Now attach the bottom piece of fabric to one of the sides in the same manor and press your seam. Continue this until you have all the sides and bottom attached all the way around your tote.

6. Repeat step # 4 with the outside pieces of your tote and be sure to press your seams.
7. Next take your two handles, fold them in half lengthwise and run a 1/4 inch sraight stitch then a zig zag down the side (see photo).

Take a safety pin and turn them right side out then press with the seam in the middle of the back side.
8. Now take the inside of your tote and pin it in place along with your handles.

9. With a denim needle and heavy duty thread take the top edge of the tote and fold it under 1/2 an inch and run a straight stitch around the top to finish off the tote. Take your time here. Denim is very heavy material and hard on a machine to stitch through.
10. To reinforce your handles run a simple decorative stitch across the base of the handle for more support.
11. Lastly if you want some added sparkle add a few dots to your designs with liquid sparkles or glitter.

Enjoy!!
