Santa Moonbeams Adorable Gift Bags

These quick and easy gift bags are sure to be a big hit this Holiday Season. Not only are they Eco-Friendly, but they are sure to save you money on wrapping paper. Brighten up the Season and reuse them year after year. Maybe they could become the "special gift" bag for loved ones for years to come.

Supplies Needed:

Scrap pieces of Christmas Fabric
Tear Away Stabilizer
Scrap Ribbon

1. Take your scrap Christmas fabric and cut out different size bags. You will need a front and a back piece of fabric. Any size will do.

2. Hoop a piece of stabilizer and one of your fabric pieces and embroider out your Santa Moonbeam Face. Remove design from machine and tear away excess stabilizer.

3. Fold over the top edge of the front and back of your gift bag roughly 1/4 inch and press. Then fold it over again roughly 1/2 inch and press. Now stitch a straight stitch or decorative stitch across the folded edge. This will give your gift bag a finished top edge.

4. Take your back fabric piece and lay face up. Then take the front of your bag and lay it face down on the back piece and line them up. Run a straight stitch down 1 side, across the bottom and up the other side being careful to start and stop your stitch at the bottom edge of where you stitched your finished top edge at (see photo). By stopping here it will allow you to feed your ribbon through the top of your bag.

5. Turn your gift bag right side out and press. Take 2 pieces of scrap ribbon that are roughly 4 inches longer than the top of your gift bag and feed 1 through the front part of the bag and the other through the back part of your bag. ( We stuck a safety pin through the end of the ribbon to make feeding the ribbon through a lot easier). Tie your ribbons together with a simple knot and stuff with goodies for someone special.
